Red Bull
Now you're probably wondering, why did Elder Berry say, "Now you're probably wondering." Now I bet you're really wondering. Anyhow, this week was hard but good!
Bruh, there are so many stray dogs here it makes me mad. I just bend over and act like I pick up a rock or something and pretend to throw it at them, and they scurry off. I think it's from the chancla abuse around here. I also got an acoustic guitar now, so that's awesome. I've always wanted to learn and play guitar, so I have fun practicing and stuff. I got it for free-99 as well.
We had a really good last week and set up lots of lessons and met some pretty promising people. Unfortunately, most of them canceled, which sucked, but that's okay. I feel like my faith is growing, but my patience was not very good this week. I gotta trust more in the Lord and His peculiar ways of doing things. Maybe He thinks we're the weird ones.
We met some very kind people throughout the week and have been carrying a little basketball with us and dunking on the hoops we see on the streets. It gets dark at like 6:40 p.m., so it makes missionary work a little more interesting and difficult. But I ain't a baby, so let's get it. Our ward mission leader is 80 years old and is a workhorse. You would think he's 40. We helped him pour some concrete for a member the other day, and he was going way quicker than us young Elders. His wife makes some delicious tacos.
Our week was pretty hard, but Sunday night we met this lady named Emelda, and she was so kind and prepared. The Spirit was so strong in our conversation, and after we left, I felt the Spirit radiating throughout my body. This is really the Lord's work. I've also been reading a book called The Divine Gift of Forgiveness, and every time I read, I just feel like I need to repent haha. Isn't it so great we get to repent infinitely? A quote I like from it is, "The most important of all the commandments of God is that one that you're having the most difficulty keeping." Isn't that neat? We often think, oh, but I'm not stealing or committing adultery, so I'm all good. Meanwhile, you're saying the Lord's name in vain or something. Yeah, keeping some of the commandments, like not killing, should be easy... I hope haha. But that's why we cannot get caught in being satisfied where we're at or what we're not doing.
Anyways, I love my companions and Sanger. The ward here is awesome!
