Hey Is For Horses
It's ya boy Chips Ahoy, and I wish y'all a Merry Christmas! I hope everyone's been doing well and you're finding a way this year to make Christmas centered on Jesus Christ.
This week has been very good! We've had lots of service opportunities! We got to help a member paint his house as well as set up some stuff in a lash studio.
This week we had a zone conference completely centered on Jesus Christ. It was really nice getting to hear people's testimonies and their favorite stories of Jesus Christ. I liked this zone conference, and personally, I'm not the biggest fan of zone conferences. I feel like it's a long time to sit. Speaking of a long time to sit, apparently, I've never realized how much I fidget when I sit, and let's just say my companion is not a big fan of that during personal study.
We watched this video called "The Christ Child," which is a really good depiction of the nativity and birth of Jesus Christ. I really felt the Spirit as I watched and couldn't help but be amazed at the humble birth of the Savior. The King of Kings was born in a manger. The King of Kings was crucified on a cross. Not the most glamorous sounding start and finish for a person. But He is the Son of God, who has all the Father has. He showed us it doesn't matter how you start life or what you look like leaving this life; what matters is all of that in between. We remember Him because of what He's done and still doing for us—every miracle He performed, every good act, every kind word. Remember the kind of person you are isn't determined by where you came from, but is determined by your resolve to follow the Master.
We live in a world where everything wants you to follow anything, and nobody wants you to follow Him. The adversary doesn't make it sound attractive to follow the Savior, but he makes everything else this world has to offer sound better. So if you're wondering why you're not motivated or why this "Jesus" stuff doesn't excite you, remember those feelings are coming from Satan. He's going to make literally anything sound more fun and worthwhile than seeking a relationship with your Savior. But we hear from the faithful and the Word that following Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to have everlasting joy. And it's true. If you're at a spot in your life where you're burnt out on church or reading your scriptures or other things, ask yourself: What is distracting me in my life that is making spiritual matters not appealing? Then repent and try to change and forsake the things that are taking away your time from things that matter the most.
Anywho, I ended this week off sick and worried, but low-key things have gotten better.
